MISSION

Ivorians in Texas, INC. is a charitable, non-profitable, non-political and non-religious organization committed to play a vital role in solidifying the relationship between its members by providing the necessary charitable, educational, cultural, and social help and support and to unite and build bridges between the U.S. and Côte d'Ivoire.

GOALS

This mission shall be achieved through the following operating goals: to bring all Ivorians into one viable organization; to cultivate and foster a spirit of giving and mutual assistance and support among Ivorians; to conduct charitable and fundraising events to serve and assist underprivileged communities, orphanage, shelters, and the disabled; to initiate, encourage, and promote cultural and economic exchanges between the United States and Ivory Cost; to collaborate and work with other Ivorian or non-Ivorian not-for-profit organizations that share the same purposes as well as the same missions.

Republic of Côte d'Ivoire: Overview

The fascinating République of Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast) is located in western Africa, sharing borders with Mali and Burkina Faso to the north, with Guinea and Liberia to the west, with the Gulf of Guinea to the south and with Ghana to the east.

Languages:The French language is the official language but there are various ethnicities in all the territory.


The main attractiveness of this country are its people and the fact that this is one of African culture most important centres. But there is more, Ivory Coast also has beautiful landscapes, as those of the mountainous Man, the beautiful region of Senoufo, Comoë National Park and the beaches and fishing villages of Sassandra.

The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) is the proud recipient of the Anselme Thierry Bony Scholarship Annual Award for undergraduate and graduate students enrolled full-time at the University of Texas-Dallas.

Preference is given to students who received part of their preparatory education in the Cote d'Ivoire or have an interest in the Cote d'Ivoire culture and are majoring in Management, Engineering, Computer Science, Natural Science and Mathematics, Economics, or Public Administration.

Number of awards and awards amount may vary every semester. Three scholarships are available every year during the Fall semester that will automatically qualify the students for an in-state tuition.
